So if you have followed any of our social media challenges before you now, more than likely have a bit of a routine or rhythm to you your social media profiles. For example, you may already be putting out a Motivational Monday post or if you follow our social media profiles we quite like our way to go Wednesdays and Friday reviews to allow us to spend a dedicated amount of time catching up with followers and see what they have been up to. We wanted this challenge to follow on from that and almost be an addition to what you are doing now and not be an instead of. Please feel free to use the subjects in this challenge across your chosen platforms you are comfortable with or an opportunity to try out some new areas to interact and engage with your followers and also add some new ones. Are you up for the challenge? Details below!
If you have not tried one of our challenges before Start here! with our five day content creation challenge.
Day 1: Interview a customer.
Interview a client/customer about how they use your product or service and the benefits they get from it and why they would recommend you, your product or service. Present this to your followers via a blog post, status update with pictures, video or make a start with disappearing content such as Instagram stories. You can also lead up to this by sharing content, letting your followers know that this interview is coming on a specific time and date (remember we told you this challenge was dropping Friday earlier in the week?)
Day 2: Interact with another local business.
Share a post or piece of content from another local business that is relevant to what you do or fits around your niche. This is a great way to open you up to another follower base and also creates new possibilities for content sharing in the future. There is also an opportunity here to further lend your experience to a new audience if the business you interact with sits nicely within your niche, for example answering questions that their audience has (just be sure not to step on anyones toes if you if you offer similar products or services).
Day 3: Answer some of your FAQ’s
Getting asked the same questions time and time again? How much is something? How does it work? Use social media to answer some of those questions. Again get creative use or a combination of video, status updates infographics (Made in Canva <<< Super helpful tip to making your own graphics right here! You can thank us later!) You could also use this idea to spread content over a number of days, let your followers know what you have planned, for example, join us on Facebook live this Friday where we will be answering our top 5 most FAQ’s you can also use this time to take further questions your followers may have to answer then in the moment or at another schuedled time.
Day 4: Share your latest email newsletter to your followers.
Share your latest email newsletter to your followers and encourage your follower base to sign up for your latest news, offers and information you provide. Be sure to include what benefits your followers will receive by being on your mailing list rather than being sold to every day we all hate spam right? If you don’t have a mailing list (Really? You don’t have one?! we are shaking our virtual heads at you right now!) then use the time today to get one. Sign up for Mailchimp as an example of a platform that gives you starting base for free and start building your mailing list. It is often overlooked that people who engage in your social media may be interested in other content you provide outside of the platform they are currently connected to you with.
Day 5: Review what worked!
Review what worked! but more importantly, review what didn’t and use that to form the basis of an ongoing strategy that includes regular reviews of what you are doing. These challenges and a lot of content provided by the gurus out there telling you to do this, post that is great but it is not meant to be a step by step guide that you should follow blindly. It’s more about providing some food for thought any maybe a few ideas that you didn’t think of and an opportunity to try some new things. Find what works do more of it and try new things in replace of what doesn’t
Are you up for the challenge? We love to see what you guys create so be sure to tag us in your posts so we can see what you come up with.
